Itinerary

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), located in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed. A representative will meet you and assist with the transfer to your hotel. After the long journey on the airplane, you will have some private time to rest and freshen up.

Day 2

On the second day, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. The tour includes visits to The Monkey Temple (Swyambhunath Temple), Kathmandu Durbar Square, and the Great Boudhanath Stupa, which is a significant Buddhist shrine. This day will also include an orientation session for your upcoming trekking adventure.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport for a short and scenic flight to Lukla. Lukla is situated amidst the mountains and serves as the starting point for your trek. Here, you will meet your trekking crew, including porters, and commence your trek to Manzoo. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, and you will cross several hanging suspension bridges along the way.

Day 4-5

These two days will be spent in Namche Bazaar, which stands at an elevation of 3,446 meters (11,306 feet). Although it is a relatively short trekking distance, the ascent is challenging. Namche Bazaar is an ancient trading center that served as an important hub between Tibet and Nepal. Yaks can be seen wandering the streets, their bells creating a magical atmosphere. This is the last town you will encounter before reaching Everest Base Camp. Spending two nights here allows for acclimatization, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse from the hillside town.

Day 6

Today’s trek of approximately 5-6 hours will take you to Tengboche, also known as Deboche. The initial part of the trek is mostly downhill, followed by a climb uphill. Tengboche Monastery is situated on a hill at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola Rivers, offering a clear view of Everest. The uphill hike is challenging but rewarding, as Tengboche is a significant spiritual center for Buddhists. Here, you will have the opportunity to witness the high priests (Lamas) performing their prayers and chants with their enchanting voices.

Day 7-8

The trek to Dingboche, located at an altitude of 4,400 meters (14,080 feet), will take approximately 5-6 hours from Tengboche. As you gain more altitude, it is essential to spend two nights in Dingboche for acclimatization. On your rest day, you can choose to hike to Nagarjung at 4,500 meters (14,764 feet).

Day 9

After a good rest and breakfast, you will continue your journey from Dingboche to Lobuche at an altitude of 4,960 meters (15,872 feet). Along the way, you will pass Dhukla, where you will encounter a large hill made up of rough rock piles, known as the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Further along the trail, you will pause to pay respects at the stone memorials, called “chortens,” dedicated to the fallen Everest climbers.

Day 10

On this exciting day On this exciting day, you will trek to Everest Base Camp. Before reaching the base camp, you will stop at Gorak Shep to freshen up and have lunch. The trek from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp follows the Khumbu Glacier moraine, leading you to the foot of Mount Everest. Once you reach the base camp, you can celebrate and admire the majestic surroundings before trekking back down to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.

Day 11

Early in the morning, you will embark on a four-hour climb up Kala Pattar, reaching an impressive altitude of 5,560 meters (17,792 feet). This summit marks the highest point of your trek and offers extraordinary panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse. After descending back to Gorak Shep, you will begin your descent through the Khumbu Valley, making your way to Pheriche at an altitude of 4,350 meters (13,920 feet).

Day 12

Continuing your descent, you will trek from Pheriche back to Tengboche. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes and the spiritual ambiance of the Tengboche Monastery, situated at the confluence of two rivers.

Day 13

Leaving Tengboche behind, you will make your way to Phakding village. The trail will take you through serene valleys and alongside flowing rivers as you descend further.

Day 14

On the second-to-last day of your trek, you will trek from Phakding to Lukla, situated at an altitude of 2,650 meters (8,480 feet). As you trek downhill, you will reminisce about the uphill challenges you conquered earlier in the journey. In the evening, you will celebrate with the trekking staff and bid farewell to the porters who accompanied you throughout the adventure.

Day 15

On the final day of your trek, you will take a flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the scenic views one last time before reaching the bustling city. Once in Kathmandu, you will have time to relax, reflect on your incredible journey, and perhaps explore the city further.

Day 16

This marks the end of your Everest Base Camp trekking experience. You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure, taking with you cherished memories and a sense of accomplishment from your incredible adventure in the Himalayas.
